Chris (“Coach P”) grew up in northern NJ and went to a private school in NYC. It was there that he learned that he would never get a soccer scholarship, let alone play professionally. Instead, he went to college for engineering and ended up switching to counseling. You see, Coach P has a very analytical mind, but loves working with people even more.

He found CrossFit in grad school and ended up teaching the movements to himself by studying video after video on CrossFit.com. By the time he joined an affiliate in 2009, Coach P was fairly familiar with the methodology, but saw major improvements by working out in a group. He has run a marathon, competed on the CrossFit affiliate team in 2012 at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, and once sat in a diner for 26.2 hours.

Coach P loves coaching to see people have those “lightbulb” moments. The first time someone gets a double under, or PR’s a clean and jerk, or finally gets a muscle up – these are the moments that he lives for and will do his best to get you there.

Favorite coaching quote: “Mediocre athletes that tried like hell to get good are the best coaches.” – Mark Rippetoe
